Indian School Darsait organized ‘Symphoneve 2016’ a musical extravaganza on 29 April 2016 at City Amphitheatre, Qurum. It served as a platform to raise funds for the school to support its developmental activities.
The renowned Musical Rock Band ‘Agam’ enthralled the audience with their breathtaking performance of free-style fusions ranging from Classical, Semi-classical to Folk and Cinematic. It was a synthesis of good music with keyboard, guitar, violin and drums rendered at its best.

The program began with a young and spirited performance by the senior boys of ISD to the tune of Arabic songs.This was followed by the welcome address from Principal, Dr. Sridevi P.Thashnath. Extending a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and the audience, the Principal acknowledged the generosity exhibited by the sponsors and patrons of ISD. The untiring efforts of the core team under the chairmanship of Jaikish Pavithran, Member, SMC was applauded by one and all.
The amphitheatre reverberated with mesmerizing music that transported the audience into a world of rhythmic entertainment. The exuberance displayed by the audience too echoed throughout the program and enlivened the atmosphere. The President of the School Management Committee, Abdul Rahim Kasim, duly honored the musicians with mementoes.

Symphoneve was presented by Minara, and was brought out in association with Shifa Al Jazeera Medical Group. The event was powered by 360 Degrees Restaurant. SMC Infra was the gold sponsor. Event sponsors included Malabar Gold & Diamond, BEC Group and S&T Interiors & Contracting, KAS. Oman Air was the official airline; Times of Oman the media partner; Al Zahra Printing Press the print partner; and Voice of Kerala the radio partner.
Orbit Event Management managed the event with the active involvement of ISD staff members.

Symphoneve 2016 

Indian School Darsait is a community school that has been proudly serving the Indian diaspora for last two decades. It is affiliated to CBSE and accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Education & Training (NABET) for Quality School Governance.

The school, with the support of parent community and well-wishers, has been organizing fund raising programme for the development of the school, supporting students who economically deprived, funding to the Special Education Center and installing modern facilities for the quality education.

The Press Meet was held at the School Auditorium on 2nd April 2016 to announce this year’s Musical Night “SYMPHONEVE 2016”. It was attended by the President of the SMC, Mr. Abdul Rahim Kasim; Mr.Biju Samuel, Convener; Mr. Jaikish Pavithran, Member of SMC & Chairman of this year’s Carnival Core Committee, Dr.Sridevi P. Thashnath, Principal and the Orbit Event Management MD Mr. Ramesh Gopalan along with other Core Committee members including the parents and teaching staff.

Giving a brief about the earlier events, the school officials informed that the concept of a fund raising programme for the development of the school evolved in the year 2012 and until 2014 school conducted this event in the form of Annual Carnival. The school presented a great musical programme in 2015 titled ‘Resonance with Balabaskar’, renowned Musician which stole the heart of the music lovers of Muscat.

This year, the school is holding its Annual Fund Raising Programme as a musical evening with Agam band, titled ‘Symphoneve 2016’ at the Qurum Amphitheatre, on 29 April 2016. Agam is a Bangalore-based Contemporary Carnatic progressive rock band. The current lineup of the band, formed in 2003, consists 7 male musicians who were identified by the maestro musician A.R Rahman in a band hunt called “Ooh la lala,” hosted by Sun TV. Their success in the show brought them into the mainstream and led to many concerts and music festivals in India as well as abroad. They also performed in the second season of Coke Studio on MTV India.

The preparations for the programme, being organized under the aegis of Orbit Event Management, are well under way. The responses from the parent community and well-wishers have been very positive and encouraging. ISD family is gearing up to make this event a memorable one for music lovers and well-wishers. The media, both print and visual, have been very supportive of all the educational endeavours of the school.

The school officials reposed their faith and said “We are convinced that the success of this event will also depend on the wholehearted cooperation of the media”.

Resonance – A Musical Evening with Balabhaskr

Indian School Darsait organized ‘Resonance’ – a musical night with the south Indian violin maestro Balabhaskar on April 25 at Qurum Amphitheatre with great enthusiasm.  It was a mega event that served as a platform to raise funds for the school to support its developmental activities. The highlights were an enthralling show of freestyle violin fusion and scintillating dance performances by students of Indian School Darsait. An impressive crowd with thousands of people from in and around Muscat poured in to be a part of this fun-filled night and enjoyed the musical extravaganza to the fullest.

The evening came alive with an amazing performance beyond compare. It was a synthesis of the best in violin, keyboard, tabala, lead and bass guitars, and drums. The virtuoso enthralled the audience with his exuberance inviting the audience to participate in his performance with impromptu dancing and humming to his tunes.

Earlier, Mr. Abdul Rahim Kassim, President, School Management Committee extended a cordial welcome to the patrons, Guest of Honour, Mr. R.M. Parakh, recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award and former chairman, BoD, Indian Schools in Oman, and other dignitaries. In his speech he praised the ISD family for making the fund raising programme a stunning success and hoped to get the same support and patronage for the future endeavours of the school.

Mrs. Nikhila Anilkumar, SMC Member and Chairperson of Resonance 2015 Core Committee, proposed the vote of thanks. She gratefully acknowledged the generosity shown to the school by all sponsors. She thanked all the staff members, parents and students for their tireless efforts in making this programme a grand success. She further expressed her sincere gratitude for the efforts put in by SMC members and the Core Committee of the event. The event was managed by Orbit Event Management with the active involvement of ISD staff members.

ISD Carnival 2014
Indian School Darsait, accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Education & Training, Quality Council of India for Quality School Governance, has been proudly serving the Indian Diaspora for last two decades. The school, though had a humble beginning, has grown enormously in the recent past. The school has earned a very high repute through the continuous hard work of our Senior Management Committee members, Parents, dedicated Staff, and students. The school is very well supported by the eminent expatriate Indian community for its greater success. With its limited resources, ISD has managed to live up to the expectations of everyone at large. ISD has been steadily moving towards its vision of becoming the most preferred Indian Community School in Oman.

Due to the limited funds and resources, the school continually raises funds through different events. With this effect, the school has been organizing Carnival for the last two years.  The carnivals were a huge success with the generous help of many sponsors and active participation of large number of well wishers. Both the ISD carnivals received thunderous applause and wide media coverage.
The funds raised from previous carnivals have been utilized for many infrastructure developments, supporting deserving students and related enrichment programmes. This year the school proposes to organize its annual Carnival on 25th & 26th April 2014 at Marah Land, Qurum Natural Park.

We are pleased to inform you that the school is working on its expansion plan and propose to build new building on the 5000 sq meters of mountain areas which is behind the school.
